Understanding Physical Education: Creative Dance

This module will prompt student teachers to reflect on teaching physical education to 7–10-year-olds. The student is provided with opportunities for deepening understanding of dance (creative). Teaching methodologies and approaches will include whole class teaching, group teaching, teacher questioning and demonstration, explanation, the use of images to explore movement and integration with other subjects. The development of fundamental movement skills and development of the child’s understanding of the principles of movement through dance will be explored.

Exploration and application of the principles of movement
